John
Fisher has been involved with Stained Glass ever since taking
his first glass class in 1980, through Cleveland Community
College. Working with the traditional lead came, and the
Tiffany style copper foil method, John has created beautiful
windows, lamps, and gift items that keep his home studio
sparkling with light and color.
John's
wife, Beth, has joined him in creating beautiful designs
of her own, using her talents to select designs and color
combinations
and add decorative beading to the finished works. John,
Beth, and their talented assistant Daphne McGuinn, work
with each client to make certain that each piece fully matches
their expectations, whether it's a small gift, a large window
commission, or a church installation.
John
uses lead, copper, zinc, brass and copper foil, along with
decorative soldering, to compliment the beautiful selection
of glass, bevels, fused glass and paintings available in
his works.
Their
work can be seen at their home studio in Ellenboro, NC.
Their studio has been included in the 2003 Craft Heritage
Trails of America book, published by Handmade in America.
John
has taught beginner and advanced stained glass classes at
Cleveland Community College for 6 years, and has started
a beginner class at Isothermal Community College. Studio
lessons are also available.
